March 2nd Class Notes


Dharma Class 1 (5 years and 6 years old)

We started dharma class 3 with opening prayers.

9:45-10:30 Practiced verses of Bhagavad Gita - Bhakti yoga slokas.

10:30-11:15 Sri Hanuman Stories

Topic of the day: Sri Hanuman the divine messenger.


We discussed how Sri hamunan was considered a divine messenger of Sri Rama Qualities of good messenger And then played a game of Am I. Good messenger And so we discussed how listening is the key for any success.

Learnt and recited 3 and 4 caupai’s of Hanuman Chalisa.


Explaining the meaning of these verses, shared stories about how one should throw away wicked (Kumati) thoughts and actions and gather only good (Sumati) thoughts or actions

Dharma Class 2 (7 years and older)

We started the class with Om chanting.

We discussed about Shiv ratri and Kumbha mela. We shared the story of Samudra manthan and how Shiva drank the poison and held it in his throat, and how he is known as Neel Kantha (one who has bluish throat)! Kids had some interesting & thought provoking questions! I'm so glad to see them interact , share their thoughts - truly amazing.

Hanuman Chalisa

We then learnt the next two Chaupais. We had a couple of student volunteers lead the chanting today.

Bhajan Class

In class, we finished the "Namashivayom Namashivayom" bhajan. We also reviewed “Atma Rama Ananda Ramana” in at the end of class.

All the students were updated with a printout of the bhajan lyrics. Please ensure they bring it to the next class in a folder, so all their papers stay organized and together.
