Hari Om!

We started the class with the Om chanting and the opening prayer.

We learnt the following verses with meaning:

Sankadik Brahmadi Muneesa Narad Sarad sahit Aheesa Yam Kuber Digpal Jahan te Kavi kovid kahi sake kahan te Tum upkar Sugreevahin keenha Ram milaye rajpad deenha

To go with the above verses, we shared the story of how Hanuman helped Sugreeva by fostering a friendship between him and SriRama and how Rama helped Sugriva by killing Vaali and regain his kingdom. All the saints, Brahma, Saraswati shower praises on on Hanuman. How Yama, Kubera, Asta dikpalas and list goes on …on who is eager to admire and praise Hanuman! Talking about praises we shared a story of a king who had put two pictures, one at the entrance and one at the exit of an exhibit hall and had asked his subjects to do the following: On the first picture, mark all the flaws and describe them in the notes pasted beside the pic. For the second picture, he wanted them to write what they found good/interesting about the picture. Next day the king had found the first picture had all the marks and there were a lot of comments wriiten. But the 2nd had no marks and the feedback notes were all empty! Its easy to find flaws but very difficult for an ordinary mortal to praise anyone!! It requires us to overcome ego and jealousy to shower praises on anyone 😃

Activity

• We distributed three green colored construction paper. We would like the kids to cutout three mango leaf shaped leaves from each paper - So 9 leaves in total. They can choose to have a cardboard template to cutout uniform shaped leaves. Please encourage your kids to do this later today or when free and bring them to next class. We will make a toran and write SriRam and decorate it with stickons and glitter etc !
• We ended the class with the closing prayer.
• Thanks for bringing the kids to the class each weekend! We enjoy sharing stories and learning Hanuman chalisa 🙏

I’d like each and every kid to attempt writing something ( even if just a paragraph ) on one of the above topics. We can have them read it out in the class and slso at the “end of semester “ celebration! Thank you! 🙏

Topics Covered:

• 1. Revised telugu aksharams. Achulu and Hallulu
• 2. Write students name, parents names, siblings name in telugu and identify acchulu and hallulu in those names.
• 3. write simple 3- 4 words that come by joining hallulu and achhulu

Homework:

• For end of year semester presentation we will be reciting 4 padyams and some other simple sentences
• Next week we will take simple assessment on acchulu and hallulu so we can continue to move kids to guninthalu who are well versed with achhulu and hallulu

Please make them practice 3 padyams I will be teaching 4 th padyam in next class
